1.The engine of a jet airplane put a force of 6.2 kN to the plane.
The plane travels 95 km. How much work do the engines do on the plane?
(Hint: 1 kN= 1000 N)

2. You help a friend's family move a sofa across a room. Together you apply a force of 1500 N to the sofa. You do 3000 J of work on the sofa.
How far did you move it?

w = f x d

6200 x 95000 = .........  joules

1500 N  * d = 3000 j     solve for d

(Hint: 1 kN= 1000 N)    as given in the Q

I should have included units to make things clearer perhaps, but often the units can clutter the equation and lead to confusion:

6200 N  * 95000 m = ......... j

k stand for kilo which means 1000 times bigger.

So

6.2kN = 6.2 thousand Newtons = 6.2*1000 =  6200 N

Same for Km
