4(7x-8)= 6(5x=10) are there 2 equal signs in this equation?
if not:
4(7x-8)=6(5x-10)
(4*7x-4*8)=(6*5x-6*10)
28x-32=30x-60
+60 +60
28x+28=30x
-28x -28x
28=2x
Multiply by 1/2 on both sides. The 2 will cancel out on the right side of the equation and divide the 28 on the left.
14=x That's the final answer if the equal sign is actually a subtraction sign.
