why does the heck 14*6/2+8*12 equal 138? I got 137 every time I did solve it

you were probably doing  PEMDAS wrong 

for your question 14*6/2+8*12, you would first multiply 14*6 and get 84, then divide 84 by 2 to get 42, then you multiply 8 and 12 and get 96, and finally add 42 and 96 to get 138.
