what kind of calculator do I need to solve these? Im stuck on this in college and have to get it done to move on, thanks

You can't solve this.  There is no equal sign!

also, since there are no brackets your meaning is not clear.

$$x-\frac{17}{x^2}-5x-14= -4x-\frac{17}{x^2}-14$$

and that is as simple as it gets.
