If I have x^2+1 =/= 0 Then will it mean x =/= -1 Doesn't make sense bcs even if its -1 ^2 will be 1 so x can be -1 .... help?
x^2 + 1 = 0 subtract 1 from both sides
x^2 = -1 take the ± roots of both sides
x = ± √[ -1] if you haven't dealt with complex numbers, √ [-1] is defined as " i"
So...
x = ± i
