Hi  andreEee,

It is nice to meet you   :)

(x+2) (x-3) (x+4) =0

ok, think about this       abc=0

What can a,b or c be?

Well the only way that 3 things can multply together to give 0 is if one (or more than one) of them is 0 to start with.

SO

if  abc=0 then either a=0  or  b=0   or c=0      (or more than one of them can be 0)

It is the same for your problem.

If    (x+2) (x-3) (x+4) =0

then

either         x+2=0     or     x-1=0     or     x+4=0

so either      x= -2    or       x=1       or      x = -4
