I need someone to answer this for me. I have no idea what to do, and while I've seen an answer to it before, the person gave no explanation how they got their numbers.

Sorry but we need more clue to this or a question in order to solve this question. Do you mean in terms of "y"?

The goal is to figure out what number y represents. As I stated, someone has provided an answer back in 2014 with y = 2, but did not give an explanation to how y = 2. I just need a way to answer this question while showing work so my teach will actually accept it.

This  is  just  the  equation of a line

 

If   y  =  1 , x  =  -1

 

If  y = 0, x = -3

 

So  the  points   ( -1, 1)   and  ( -3, 0)   are  on the  line

 

Plot  these  points  and  draw a  line  through them.....this will be  the graph  of  x = 2y - 3

I'm not entirely sure this is the answer the sheet is looking for. Because it's phrased as "Solve the equation for y: x=2y-3".

Solve for y: 2y = -3 - x, y = -3/x - x/2

Solve for y

 

2y-3 = x

2y = x + 3

y = 1/2 x + 3/2
