(x-4)/6 = (2x+5)/2

The easiest way to solve this is to just cross multiply...so we have

2(x-4) = 6(2x+5)      Expanding, we have

2x-8 = 12x+30         Subtract 12x from both sides

-10x-8 = 30              Add 8 to both sides

-10x = 38                 Divide both sides by -10

x = -38/10 = -19/5
