Let x be your normal hourly rate....So, you work 40 hrs at the rate of x, and 5 more hrs. at 1.5x....so we have
40x + (5)*(1.5x) = 475 simplify
40x + 7.5x = 475
47.5x = 475 divide both sides by 47.5
x = $10/hr
