Notice when you add 1 dollar plus one dollar plus one dollar, that makes 3 dollars, and when you add that to the 2 the bellboy kept then it is 5. 30 dollars minus 5 is 25. There's a hint.

It is the lower number in a fraction, and represents to "whole" amount of things, while the numerator (the number on top) represents the number of items out of the whole is being used. For example, in 3/5, 5 would be the numerator and number that represents the whole.
A pie might be cut into 5 equal pieces, with 3 pieces being eaten. 3 of the total 5 are being eaten.
The woodchuck could chuck as much as he could but if the woodchuck could chuck wood then I would say that the woodchuck could chuck 3 logs of wood before upchucking the woodchuck's wood. 3 logs of wood would make the woodchuck upchuck the wood because the woodchuck could and would chuck only 2 pieces of wood, but accidentally chuck 3.
