\({16}^{\frac{x}{2}}=64\)  Solve for x and please show how you got to your answer.

Take logs to base 4 of both sides:

 

\(16^{x/2}=64\\.\\\frac{x}{2}log_416=log_464\\.\\ \frac{x}{2}\times 2=3\\.\\x=3\)

 

Note that log416 = 2 because 42 = 16  and log464 = 3 because 43 = 64

.
