I assume we are solving for x?

First find the Lowest Common Denominator between (-1/3) and (-1/5). This will be 15. Thus, -1/5 converts to -3/15 and -1/3 converts to -5/15. Sum these two values up (-3/15 and -5/15) to get (-8/15).

Our new equation will then be 2x-x-8/15=1. Add over the (-8/15) to the other side. Taking 1+ 8/15 will result in 23/15 with another Lowest Common Demominator of 15. (Convert 1 to 15/15).

Combine like terms between the 2x and -x to recieve 1x. Thus, the answer is x=23/15.
