2x^2-x-3=0 solve

If you factor 2x² - x - 3  =  0, you get (2x - 3)(x + 1)  =  0. 

Setting each factor equal to zero:  2x - 3  =  0     and     x + 1  =  0

and solving:                                       x  =  3/2     and     x  =  -1
