5 + 2P  =  10 - 2P

Add 2P to both sides:

5 + 4P  =  10

Subtract 5 from both sides:

     4P  =  5

Divide both sides by 4:

       P  =  5/4  or 1.25

5+2P=10-2P

im assuming here that 5+2P is 10, so we can use that for our find what equals P situation

(besides, its easier for me 5+2P than 10-2P)

5+2×P=10

We can subtract 5-5 and 10-5, equaling:

2×P=5

We divide 2 on both 2P and 5, and P=2.5

overall answer: P=2.5
