$$\left({\mathtt{5}}{\mathtt{\,\small\textbf+\,}}{\frac{{\mathtt{3}}}{{\mathtt{4}}}}\right){\mathtt{\,\times\,}}\left({\mathtt{2}}{\mathtt{\,\small\textbf+\,}}{\frac{{\mathtt{3}}}{{\mathtt{5}}}}\right) = {\mathtt{14.95}}$$

5 3/4 X 2 3/5=

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OK...let's convert both things to fractions

5 3/4 = 23/4          2 3/5 = 13/5

Now, we have

(23/4) * (13/5)

If we can "reduce," we should, but unfortunately, nothing "cancels."

So we have (23 * 13) / (4 * 5) = 299/20

Writing this back as a "mixed number," we have

14 + 19/20
