A city park is opening a new pool. How many days would you have to swim to make a membership worthwhile?

The cost of Membership is 80 dollars and the cost to swim with a membership is 1 dollar, and 3 dollars without a membership.

This one is not too hard.

Make n the number of time you swim.

Then (80 +1n) =3n

You can tell this is true because if you swim once with a membership then it cost $81. If you swim once without a membership it cost $3. When you solve this it tell how many times you need to swim to break even that is when they equal to eachother. After that you save money.

 (80 +1n) = 3n

3n-1n = 80

2n = 80

N = 40

You break even at 40 times
