A machine shop is installing two pulleys. Pulley O has a radis of 524 mm and pulley P has a radius of 140 mm as shown. The length of AB is 1,398 mm. If angle AOP is 54.5 degrees and angle BPO is 125.5 degrees, what is the length of the driving belt ADCBA in mm?

The  length  of the belt from A to D   =   524 * [ 251/360 ] * 2*pi   = about 2295.53 mm

 

The length of the belt from C to B  =  140 * [ 109/360] * 2*pi  = about 266.34 mm

 

And, by symmetry, AB = DC

 

So....the length of the drive belt is ≈  [ 1398*2 + 2295.53 + 266.34 ]mm  ≈ 5357.87 mm
