This is how I think of problems like this one

what persent of 860 is 43? don't give me the answer though I just want the formula

First I think "What FRACTION of 860 is 43?"        Well that would be    43/860

THEN      How do I change a fraction into a percentage?   Well I multiply it by 100 of course!        43/860 *100 %

x/100*860=43

x=43*100/860

x=
