Are you writing the equation for y, or graphing the intercepts?

1) Equation for y:
Subtract 5x from both sides.
3y=-5x+16
then divide by 3.
y=-5/3x + 16/3

2) Finding x- and y- intercepts:
For the x-intercept, you would make y=0.
So:
5x=16
Solve for x.
x=16/5 or 3.2
The x-intercept would then be (3.2, 0)

And for the y-intercept, you would make x=0.
so 3y=16
