Hi Gibsonj338,   smiley

I am sure that you already know the answer is 2 and 1.  I did it with simultaneous equations which is how you would usually do it too.

That is a=1 and b=2

a+b=3

a-b=-1

ab=2

a/b=1/2

Am I mising something here?

a + b = 3

a - b =  -1      add these equations

2a = 2       divide both sides by 2

a = 1

So....if ab  = 2, then.....

(1)b = 2    so b  = 2

And    a/b =   1/2

Here's a graph of all the equations and their solution at the intersection point (1,2)......I have substituted  x, y for a, b
