An Integer from 100 through 999, inclusive, is to be chosen at random. What is the probability that the number chosen will have 0 as at least 1 digit?
The probability of any of the ten digits from 0 to 9 is 10%, when the number chosen is totally random.
From 100 - 199 inclusive, there are 19 numbers containing at least one zero
And we have the same number in each hundred from x00 to x99 where x ranges from 1 to 9
So..... the total number of integers from 100- 999 inclusive that have at least one zero =
9(19) = 171
So....the probability that we select a digit that contains at least one zero = 171 / 900 = 19%
