Thanks Heureka,

 

That site seems to refer to the unit of weigth as pounds force. :)

so I assume that pounds is a measure of mass and pounds force is a measure of weight.   ?

Thanks anon but that site does not provide any online help - not that I could see anyway - therefore it is useless to almost everybody on this forum.

 

Weight = mass * acceleration

so I  guess,

weight = 60*9.8 = 588 Newtons

 

I think pounds is a measure of mass, not weight

The SI derived unit for force is the newton.
1 newton is equal to 0.224808943871 pounds.

 588 Newtons = 132.187658996148 pounds
