Can someone please explain how 2^(x+2)/2^2 is simplified to 2^x ???

Remeber the rule that      a^m / a^n =    a^(m - n)   ......so we have

 

2^(x+2)/2^2

 

2^(x + 2  - 2)   =

 

2^x
