Hayley: did you check to see if the equation balances?

Solve for h:
1-5 h = 11

Subtract 1 from both sides:
-5 h = 10

Divide both sides by -5:
Answer: |  h = -2

Simplifying -6 + 4 + -3 + h = 11 Combine like terms: -6 + 4 = -2 -2 + -3 + h = 11 Combine like terms: -2 + -3 = -5 -5 + h = 11 Solving -5 + h = 11 Solving for variable 'h'. Move all terms containing h to the left, all other terms to the right. Add '5' to each side of the equation. -5 + 5 + h = 11 + 5 Combine like terms: -5 + 5 = 0 0 + h = 11 + 5 h = 11 + 5

Combine like terms: 11 + 5 = 16 h = 16 Simplifying h = 16!

Bam! (:
