A good equation to know is the  point-slope  equation, used when you know a point and a slope.

y - y1  =  m · (x - x1)           where m is the slope and (x1, y1) is the point.

For your problem,  m = 3  x1 = 5  and  y1 = 2:

y - 2  =  3(x - 5)

Now, it depends in what form you want your answer:

To get it into y-form:

y - 2  =  3x - 15

y  =  3x - 13
