y=(x-2)*(x-2) = x^2-4x+4

to solve this you simply FOIL. multiply the First parts in each parentheses (x and x), multiply the Outer of each parentheses (x and -2), multiply in Insides of each parentheses (-2 and x), mulitply the Last in each parentheses (-2 and -2). This yields (in order) x^2, -2x, -2x, and +4. Then you add each part of your FOIL. x^2+(-2x)+(-2x)+4
