You would get an imaginary number... or

Reason being that -1^(4/3) is actually    sqrt^4((-1^3))

If you put -1 to the third power... you get -1

If you try to fourth root -1. You cant. This is why you get error because it's an imaginary number.

\({(-1)}^{4/3}\)

\(\sqrt[3]{{(-1)}^{4}}\)

\(\sqrt[3]{(-1)(-1)(-1)(-1)}\)

\(\sqrt[3]{1(-1)(-1)}\)

\(\sqrt[3]{(-1)(-1)}\)

\(\sqrt[3]{1}\)

\(1\)
