Area of parallelogram  =

(base) *( height)  =

( 2.5 + 6.5) * ( 6)  =

(9) * (6)

Calculate this, Nickolas.....divide the answer by 40.....and round up to the next integer

So

9*6= 54

so divide 54 by 40???

Yep....and then round up to the next integer [ since we can't buy "partial bags" ]

54/40 = 1.35

How would I round to the nearest integer I think I know how but I forget....

Not the "nearest" integer......but the "next"  integer

So

1.35  rounds to   2

So...we need 2 bags

so 2 bags it is because 1.35  rounds to   2??

Yes beause in this problem your assuming that you can't fit anymore in the bag so it's ideal to round it to the next number because you will need another bag. Generaly it we would round it to 1.4 or maybe just 1 but since you have only whole numbers to choose from you round it to the next whole number.
