Do the multiplaction first, according to PEMDAS.

-1*(-5/3) is equal to 5/3.

(5/3 - 3) can be turned into (5/3 - 9/3) by multiplying the top and bottom of 3 by the number 3.  (3 can be rewritten as 3/1)

You're allowed to multiply the top and bottom by 3 because it is equivalent to multiplying 3 by the number 1, since1/1 = 3/3.

And so 5/3 - 9/3 is -4/3.

Just do 5 - 9 accross the top which is -4, and don't worry about the denominator because it is the same. Just carry it over to get -4/3.
