Mandy wants to earn a 90% overall average in her mathematics class. She has grades of 87, 77, and 94 thus far in the course. What grade does Mandy need to average on the next two assessments to earn a 90% overall average?

It says to round to the nearest whole numbers as needed

Easy to solve these

She  currently has    87 + 77 + 94  =  258 points

She needs  5(90)  =  450 points  for a "90"  average

So....on the next two tests....she needs   450 - 258   =  192  points

So....she needs to average   192 / 2  =   96  on the next two tests

First, multiply 90 by 5 to get 450. Next, evaluate 450-87-77-94. That gets us a total of 192. After that, divide that by 2 to get the average total grade needed to get a 90% average.

Mandy needs to get an average of 96% on her 2 tests to get a 90% average on her 5 tests.
