JUst re-arrange so all of the terms are on one side and equated to zero

6x^2 - 10x -4  = 0  is a Quadratic Equation        Now you can work with it......   simplify it if you want by dividing both sides by 2

3x^2 -5x - 2 = 0            is the same thing.....a Quadrtic Equation    SOme can be solved by simply factoring, others may need the quadratic FORMULA or 'completing the square' to find a solution

10x+4=6x^2   subtract 10x, 4 from both sides

6x^2 - 10x - 4  = 0     divide through by 2

3x^2 - 5x - 2 = 0       factor, if possible

(3x +1) (x - 2)  = 0   set both factors to 0

3x + 1  = 0                                                  x - 2   = 0

subtract 1 from  both sides                    add 2 to both sides

3x  = - 1                                                     x = 2

divide both sides by 3

x = -1/3

So.....   x = -1/3   or   x =  2

cool cool cool
