what is the slope of a line that is y=-12????

All lines of the form    y = a    have a slope of 0.....to see why....look at at any two points on this line.....for example   (2, -12)  and (3 - 12)

 

The slope between these two points =  [  -12  - (-12) ] / [ 3 - 2]   =   [-12 + 12] / 1    =  0 / 1    = 0
