the answers which someone gave where incorrect so i'm still confused about these

1) whenever you see log, think 3 (the base) to what power equals 1000 (the value in parentheses). 3^x = 1000. Unfortunately 3 doesn't go into 1000 so you're gonna get a decimal answer. The problem is that base 3... We can use the base formula to restate it... Log10(1000) / log10(3) = log3(1000)

10^x = 1000 is easy, that's just 3. So 3/log10(3). You can probably put that in your calculator since most have a log function

2&3) you need to go through these one by one and draw out the function. Like x^4 is a parabola, so it falls into the third category as it is not flat or increasing all the time, and it's not flat or decreasing all the time - first it goes down, then it goes up.

 

X^ 4 is also an even function, because it gives the same value whether x is positive or negative (it's symmetrical over the y axis). Something like x^3 would be odd since (-x)^3 = -(x^3). If you draw a diagonal line through the origin on your graphs it's symmetrical over that line. Hope this helps
