- Based on the phrasing of the problem in question, the answer is fairly obvious...

((3)+(2))=(5)
...and in turn...
((5)*(30))=(150)

Then the answer is 30 sets of 5 diamonds equals 150 diamonds are used.

Alternatively...
1 diamond times 150 equals 150 diamonds used.

I hope that answers your question?

Kind regards...

I think the key is in the statement "If she uses 150 diamonds in total, how many diamond are used?"

She uses 150 diamonds.  In total.

I don't know.

when she started she had used none.

When she fisinches she will use 150

but since she is int the process of making it it could be any number in between.
