A cubic container and a cylidrical barrel have the same volume, if the height of the barrel equals to its radius R, then the length of a side L of the container is?

Vcylinder = pi * r^2 * h     but  h = r......so the volume    =  pi* r^2 *r   =  pi * r^3

Vcube  =   side length^3   = L^3

So

pi * r^3  =  L^3       take the cube root of both sides

∛[pi * r^3]   = L  = r∛pi

cool cool cool
