How do you find the y-intercept of a function

Substitute 0 for x and solve the equation for y.

Example:     2x + 3y  =  6

                    2(0) + 3y  =  6

                      0 + 3y  =  6

                            3y  =  6

                              y  =  2

For this example, the y-intercept is 2  -- that is, the point (0,2).
