Simplify the following:
(1+4/7)/(1+1/4)

Put 1+1/4 over the common denominator 4. 1+1/4  =  4/4+1/4:
(1+4/7)/(4/4+1/4)

4/4+1/4  =  (4+1)/4:
(1+4/7)/((4+1)/4)

4+1 = 5:
(1+4/7)/(5/4)

Put 1+4/7 over the common denominator 7. 1+4/7  =  7/7+4/7:
(7/7+4/7)/(5/4)

7/7+4/7  =  (7+4)/7:
((7+4)/7)/(5/4)

7+4 = 11:
(11/7)/(5/4)

Multiply the numerator by the reciprocal of the denominator, (11/7)/(5/4) = 11/7×4/5:
(11×4)/(7×5)

7×5  =  35:
(11×4)/35

11×4  =  44:
