To work out minutes you have to extract just the fractional part of the degree and multiply it by 60, this will give you minutes and fractions of a minute.
e.g., 17.326 degrees
0.326 x 60 = 19.56 minutes
So 17.326° = 17° 19.56‘
With the calculator in degree mode you just enter the number of degrees.
If you want to enter, say, D degrees and M minutes just enter D + M/60 (i.e. you enter the minutes as fractions of a degree).
