how do i simplify the fractions?

You find a common factor between the numerator and denominator and divide both by that factor.

For example:  8/24      A common factor for both numbers is 2. Then you divide both numerator and                                                denominator by that same number.

That makes 4/12         Continue with another common factor until there are no more common factors.

1/3                            This is the simplified form using 4 as the next common factor.

The greatest common factor of the fraction is the ideal factor to simplify with.
