I think that this should be the roots of y=3x^2-10x+3

You need to solve  3x^2-10x+3=0

I would look for 2 numbers that multiply to 3*3=9  and add to -10

this is easy   -9 and -1

now replace the middle term -10x with -9x-1x

3x^2-9x-1x+3=0

now factorise in pairs

3x^2-9x     -1x+3=0

3x(x-3)      -1(x-3)=0

       (3x-1)(x-3)     =0

so     3x-1=0       or     x-3=0

            x = 1/3    or       x=3
