28  =  1 + 3(v - 7)^(2/3)

Subtract 1 from both sides:

27  =  3(v - 7)^(2/3)

Divide both sides by 3:

9  =  (v - 7)^(2/3)

Since an exponent of 2/3, means "the cube root of the square", cube both sides:

729  =  (v - 7)^2

Find the square root of both sides:

27  =  v - 7

Add 7 to both sides:

34  =  v
