How many inches are in 3 1/4 yards?

There is actually a pretty simple way to find these and it's kind of fun or at least to me it is with knowing there are tweleve inches in a fott you multiply that by three once to get a yard then you ultiply it by the number the three yards as demonstrated like this 12x 3 = 36 and 36 x 3 = 108 and then you divide 36 inches by four to find the 1/4 a yard and we get 9 and 9 + 108 = 117.
