Let the ball's cast =B, then:

The bat's cost =B + 1

B + B + 1 =1.10

2B =1.10 - 1

2B =.10

B =0.10/2

B =0.05 cents - the cost of the ball

$1 + 0.05 =$1.05 the cost of the bat.

So the ball costs $1.05, or $0.05? The final part confused me. frown
