Let angle \(\alpha, \beta \) and \( \gamma \) be as shown in \(\triangle ABC\) below:

What are

\(\tan(\alpha), \tan (\beta), \tan (\beta +\gamma)\)
in that order?

\(\tan(angle)=\frac{ the\;opposite \;side }{ the \;adjacent \;side} \quad \text{in a right angle triangle.}\)

So for Tan (alpha)

Triangle ADB is right angled.   Why?

Which side is opposite (not touching) the angle alpha?

Which side is adjacent (touching but not the hypotenuse) of the angle alpha?

So what is tan (alpha) ?

You can answer these questions for me and then try the others for yourself.
