The coordinates of the endpoints of line segments are given in the options below. Which line segments are parallel? A(1, 6), B(4, −3) and C(6, 4), D(9, −1) E(1, −2), F(−4, 3) and G(−2, 3), H(−7, 6) R(−2, −3), S(2, 0) and T(1, 4), U(5, 7) W(−4, 4), X(3, 7) and Y(−3, 1), Z(5, 4)

I think this might be better written as:

The coordinates of the endpoints of line segments are given in the options below.

1. A(1, 6), B(4, −3) and C(6, 4), D(9, −1)

2. E(1, −2), F(−4, 3) and G(−2, 3), H(−7, 6)

3. R(−2, −3), S(2, 0) and T(1, 4), U(5, 7)

4. W(−4, 4), X(3, 7) and Y(−3, 1), Z(5, 4)

Which line segments are parallel?

For two line segments to be parallel they must have the same slope.

1.  AB has slope  (-3 - 6)/(4 - 1) = -3

    CD has slope  (-1 - 4)/(9 - 6) = -5/3

These are not the same so AB and CD are not parallel.

I'll leave you to use the same method for the other segments.
