I roll a pair of dice. What is the probability that:

There are 35 ways to roll 2 dice. That is from 2 to 36.

 

For the dice to sum to 10 there are 3 ways to roll a 10 so that is 3/35 = 0.0857

For the dice to be doubles there are 6 ways so that is 6/35 = 0.171

The question ask for either to sum to 10 or have doubles so that is 6 + 3 = 9 ways and

9/35 = 0.257. That is the probability, 

 

I do the last question because it say “and” instead of “or”.  

The sum of the pips on the top faces is 6 and doubles are rolled?

There is only one way to get a total of 6 with a double and that is with two 3s that is 1/35 or 0.286.
