The reason "e" is called "natural logarithm" is because it occurs in nature, without being artificially invented by human beings, such as base 10 we use, because we happened to have 10 fingers on our hands. "e" occurs in many areas of nature, such as interest on money grows continuously according to "e". Trees and other plants grow according to "e". Radioactivity occurs in nature according to "e". It occurs in nature without interference by human beings.
