x^2 + 12x + k

Here is the way to find this.......take 1/2 of the coefficient on x   = (1/2) * 12   = 6

Now.....square this  = 36      and this is "k".....this produces a perfect square trinomial because

x^2 + 12x + 36    factors as (x + 6) (x + 6)   =  (x + 6)^2

cool cool cool
