GCF stands for Greatest Common Factor.

The GCF between two or more numbers is the biggest number you could divide those numbers by and get a whole number.

For example, the GCF of 9 and 24 is 3.

9 ÷ 3 = 3

24 ÷ 3 = 8

You can't divide anything by 3 and 8 and get a whole number, so 3 is the GCF of 9 and 24.
