Sometimes a student will reveal an understanding about something the teacher had not anticipated in the model answer for an exam question. This can be a reason for awarding bonus marks. There are no hard and fast rules about awarding bonus marks, just so long as it is fair to all.

No, this percentage of mark isn't possible! Because percentage can only be out of 100% , for example 90% , that's possible!

That is true Rosala but consider this situation.

A teacher sets a hard test and it is out of 100.

She decides to set a bonus question in case the really smart and fast students finish early. This question is worth 12 points.

Suzzie gets the whold test right and does NOT attempt the bonus question she gets 100%

Mahal does the bonus question as well and gets everything correct so he gets 112%

Is that correct???

Don't worry Rosala, your answer was correct.

I just want people to think about things a bit.  That is all.  :)
